Kaiqiao Wu wins prize at UK Particle Technology Forum

kaiqiao part techCongratulations to PhD student Kaiqiao Wu for winning the second prize of the poster presentation at UK Particle Technology Forum 2017. This success follows just one day after his award for best presentation in the Chemical Engineering Fundamentals theme at ChemEngDayUK!

As the supernumerary of the ChemEngDayUK 2017 on 27-28 March 2017, the University of Birmingham will also held this one-day event on 29th March 2017 on behalf of IChemE Particle Technology Special Interest Group (PTSIG), to bring together early career researchers to discuss the challenges and opportunities for Particle Technology. Above and beyond research talks and posters, the meeting aimed to provide a focused platform for PhDs/postdocs thinking 'What's next for my career?'. More information about the UK Particle Technology Forum 2017 can be found here.

She will use ARCHER supercomputer for 6 months to study behavior of biomolecules confined in ordered amorphous silica through all-atom molecular dynamic simulations with explicit water and counter-ions.The simulations will provide a better understanding of the interplay between the adsorbed proteins and mesoporous materials which is necessary to improve drug delivery systems by improving stability and controlled release of the active drug at the site of interest.
