Michele Lynch presents at ESBES 2016

ESBES SliderMichele Lynch will present at the European Symposium on Biochemical Engineering Sciences (ESBES) 2016. The conference takes place 11-14 September 2016, in Dublin, Ireland.

"The European Society for Biochemical Engineering Sciences (ESBES) and the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) are delighted to present ESBES 2016. This major event will provide a platform for bioengineers and others to discuss the latest in research and industrial application of all aspects of biochemical engineering."

Michele's presentation is entitled “Chaperonin-Inspired Enzyme Protection by Mesoporous Silica.” See the full programme here.

She will use ARCHER supercomputer for 6 months to study behavior of biomolecules confined in ordered amorphous silica through all-atom molecular dynamic simulations with explicit water and counter-ions.The simulations will provide a better understanding of the interplay between the adsorbed proteins and mesoporous materials which is necessary to improve drug delivery systems by improving stability and controlled release of the active drug at the site of interest.
